Born in Milan from a Neapolitan family, Maria Giovanna (b.1995) has been adopted by Sardinia, the nuragical island of Italy. Untangling herself between the Island and New York City, her work is deeply influenced by such double nature. Applying a surgical vision to the world, she captures unnoticed details and relates them to universal meanings. As an artist and visual storyteller, her aim is to communicate through the aesthetic and trigger actions and emotions. Her main theme revolves around the humans and nature binomial, questioning belongingness and tie to the Planet.
